March 5, 2017

Please make sure to grab a park map. Each section is be color coated to match the map. This guide goes in order from where you should start to where you should finish. If you want this guide emailed to you in a PDF please feel free to email us at TheTravelExperiment@outlook.com and request it.

We got the park to park tickets and were able to take the Hogwarts Express from Islands of Adventure to Hogsmead.

*Note: Any rides added to the parks after March 2017 will not be on here.

*Recommendations:

1) Purchase an Express Pass

2) Get to the park as early as possible, the earlier the better.

3) Download the Universal Park App, it will give you step by step directions to where you want to go.

4) If you are a Harry Potter fan, DRESS UP! Go all out but get your stuff online before you leave for the trip. You will want to buy the items in the stores once you see how many people are walking around dressed up but a cloak alone was around $100!!!

If you begin at Port of Entry in Universal Studios (if you start at Islands of Adventure Scroll Down) go to the towards the Wizarding World of Harry Potter (you should be able to the the buildings in the distance).

The Wizarding World of Harry Potter - Diagon Alley

*Notes: The entrance to Diagon Alley is hidden, it is directly across from the Knight Bus and next to the train station. You will feel like you are on a street in England.  There is a red telephone booth outside of Diagon Alley, if you dial 62442 (M-A-G-I-C), it will connect you to the Ministry of Magic.

-Head into Diagon Alley

- Check out Weasleys' Wizard Wheezes AKA Weasly & Weasley Joke Shop on your right hand side.

-Go down Knockturn Alley on the left hand side (#10 on the map) to visit Borgan & Burkes Dark Wizarding Shop.

-Visit the Leaky Cauldron, The Hopping or the Fountain of Fair Fortune for a sweet, creamy Butterbeer (we went for the frozen version and we were not disappointed!)

-Hop on the "Harry Potter & The Escape from Gringotts" ride (#12 on the map) this is where the wheel chair will REALLY come in handy. This line is LONG.

-Ollivander's Wand Shop - check out all the wands.

-*Tip: If you visit "Gringotts Money Exchange" find the animatronic goblin and ask him questions. (you can ask about dragons, tell him he's a house elf or ask him about his age)

Head to Hogwarts Express (#9 on the map)

-When you reach the are to get on platform 9 3/4 STOP, you will see a luggage cart. Whip out your phone and take a video of each other running into the passage way. The cart creates and illusion that you are running through the wall.

-Enjoy that amazing train ride!

The Wizarding World of Harry Potter - Hogsmead

-Get in line for the "Dragon Challenge" if you like rollercoasters (#16 on the map)

-Grab some food at Three Broomsticks (J on the map) *Note: We got the huge platter and all split it

- Digest and walk around, use the bathroom and listen for Moaning Myrtle.

-Head up the hill to "Harry Potter & The Forbidden Journey" (#12 on the map). *Note: We rode this one multiple times, we could not get enough.

-Head back to get on the Hogwarts Express, maybe grab some legendary treats from Honeydukes for the way back or go to Jurassic Park World for the "River Adventure" (#10 on the map) and Marvel Super Hero Island for "The Incredible Hulk Coaster (#1 on map) and "The Amazing Adventures of Spiderman" (#4 on map) then head back to the Hogwarts Express to Diagon Alley.

Hollywood

- Terminator 2 3D (#25 on map) *Note: This ride has times so plan around it if you are going to go on it

Production Central:

-Despicable Me Minion Mayhem (#1 on map) *Note: This ride jolts & jerks you around as if a small minion so I do not recommend it for anyone with neck or back injuries)

New York:

- If you are hungry stop at Finnegan's Pub (B on the map)

Head back to Diagon Alley to see it come alive at night! Stop in "Florean Fortescue's Ice-Cream Parlour" for some delicious ice cream (located by Gringotts Bank). The dragon on the building breathes fire at a certain time (ask the people in the icecream shop when) but if it's windy it will not blow due to saftey regulations.
